I’ve flashed dot cards to my three children in various ways since they were babies and toddlers. At age 5, my eldest child was able to image dots in his mind and do mental math. Imaging dots allow him to pick up math concepts easily too.

FAQs

Q. Are these cards suitable for babies or older children?

Red dot flashcards are suitable for 0-6 years old, as long as the child is interested.
They help the child to build a sense of quantity, for doing approximation and comparison.
These eventually help to strengthen the child’s number sense.
After a flashcard session, you may select 2 or more cards to let the child approximate, compare, arrange in ascending or descending order, etc.
Simply follow up with engaging developmental- and age-appropriate activities.
